Drama For Schools - 2018–2021

Arts-Based Professional Learning

From 2017 to 2020, I worked with Drama for Schools to design and implement trainings in drama-based pedagogy (DBP) throughout Texas, South Australia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Online Learning Through the Arts

In summer 2020, I led a small group of teaching artists in developing DFS’s first Online Summer Institute. This 4-day training focused on translating embodied learning to virtual spaces. We utilized Zoom, Prezi, and the Google Suite to offer 16 hours of dynamic synchronous and asynchronous engagement for educators across the US.

You can view the first of six Prezi presentations that I wrote, designed, and constructed for the DFS Online Summer Institute here.

Exploring Adjectives through Statues

“I notice that I do not feel ‘Zoom fatigue’ after these sessions. So I wonder if DBP might actually be more crucial to a remote/online learning model than an in-person one? …. Could DBP combat that brain/body disconnect that we feel when trying to be in ‘virtual community’?”
