Critical and Creative Teaching in the K-16 Classroom

“I learned drama (art) is something/a tool that combines knowledge from different fields. It provides more possibilities and decreases students’ learning anxiety.”

—Workshop Participant

In partnership with the Experimental Education Center at the National Chenchi University in Taiwan, I co-designed and consulted on a professional learning program for K-16 educators. This three-day training explored the foundational theory and practices of drama-based pedagogy with 50 educators from diverse disciplines. Our international team of artist-educators (I-Chia Chui, YiRen Tsai, Katie Dawson, and Tamara Goldbogen) worked together via virtual platforms to both plan and implement the workshops in a virtual and in-person hybrid model.

Workshop Livestream

The Experimental Education Center livestreamed every day of the workshop. Skip to 1:02:03 in the above video to see me and the other U.S. facilitators introduce drama-based pedagogy on Day 1. You can check out all of the livestream videos here.
