How might I engage my teaching artist facilitation skills in Theater for the Very Young performance?

With Magic Box (2018), our team of generative artists explored how an observational research approach to devising Theatre for Very Young (TVY) might create opportunities for recognition and interaction between adult performers and young audiences. Working as a part of The PaperBoats sharing community for her MFA thesis research, director Lina Chambers recorded and shared weekly observations from the pre-school performance location. Our two-person ensemble then incorporated the gestures, actions, and characters from these observations into our devising process and performance.
